Mouvement de la Paix is the national coordinator of the Appeal « No, to the war in Iraq. Yes, to a world of peace, justice and democracy”. This organization was created in 2002 to halt the war in Iraq.

It consists of about one hundred organizations (NGOs, political parties, trade unions…) and it has regularly been meeting for two years and keeping on developing actions to put a halt to the war in Iraq.

Recent events

19 – 20 Mars

In conformity with the decisions taken in London on 18 and 19 December 2004 at the FSE, the 19 Mars event will be the occasion for a large European demonstration in Brussels to promote a “social and pacific Europe” and also to speak from a European perspective against the war in Iraq and the militarization projects in the EU.

How is it possible to guarantee the success of this event? And how can the antiwar movement carry its weight?

The day after 20 Mars is the anniversary of the war in Iraq.

9 – 10 February in Nice

An informal NATO meeting will take place in Nice in the presence of many personalities, such asDonald Rumsfeld. A number of local or national organizations will prepare an event on 9 February.
